Waterscan Receives Accredited Living Wage Employer Mark

Waterscan is proud to announce that it has been accredited by the Living Wage Foundation, joining the movement of employers, organisations and people across the UK that believe that a hard day’s work deserves a fair day’s pay.

The real Living Wage is the only rate calculated according to what people need to make ends meet according to the cost of living, not just the government minimum. It provides a voluntary benchmark for employers that choose to take a stand, by ensuring their staff earn a wage that meets the costs and pressures they face in their everyday lives.

Since 2011 the Living Wage movement has delivered a pay rise to over 230,000 people and put over £1 billion extra into the pockets of low paid workers. Across the South East, 15% of all jobs – around 572,000 – pay less than the real Living Wage.

Katherine Chapman, Director, Living Wage Foundation said: “We’re delighted that Waterscan has joined the movement of over 6000 responsible employers across the UK who voluntarily commit to go further than the government minimum to make sure all their staff earn enough to live on. These businesses recognise that paying the real Living Wage is the mark of a responsible employer.”

Waterscan Managing Director Neil Pendle added: “To be awarded the Living Wage Employer Mark is important to us. It is just one of the ways that we respect and support our team both at work and at home. This accreditation sends out a clear message to all our stakeholders that they are dealing with an ethical business, inside and out.”
