Convened by the CEO Water Mandate under the United Nations Global Compact, the WRC brings together senior leaders from some of the world’s most influential companies. Members include Microsoft, Diageo, Ecolab, Coca-Cola, and Heineken. These global businesses share a commitment to accelerating collective action that addresses the world’s most pressing water challenges.

The Thames River Basin has been designated a global priority. It faces intensifying climate pressures, growing water stress, and competing demands from people, nature, and industry. As Collaborative Lead, Waterscan is playing a central role in the launch of the Thames River Basin Water Action Collaborative. This multi-stakeholder platform brings together WRC members, UK water market participants, and local basin champions to align efforts, share knowledge, and co-develop impactful, locally tailored interventions.

At the same time, the Thames project will serve as a blueprint for basin-level resilience initiatives worldwide.

Waterscan’s advisory role will also focus on closing the gap between data, strategy, and delivery. Its work will help ensure that every intervention in the basin aligns with the WRC’s global goals, contributing to broader system transformation.

The challenges facing the Thames demand urgent, united action. We’re proud to lead alongside industry partners who recognise that influence, innovation and investment must come together if we’re to transform the future of water resilience – not just in the UK, but globally.

Neil Pendle, CEO, Waterscan

This partnership builds on Waterscan’s longstanding leadership in sustainable water management. It also reinforces a core belief at the heart of the Coalition:

The time to act is now. Industry has the influence and responsibility to lead the way.
